Can I go forward with my marriage?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Askimam.org

In this site I had come across masturbation and Alhamdulillāh I have left it. But I used to do it from the age of 16 and now I am 25.  It is the worst thing ever happened in my life.  I regret it now as I came to know the effects of it.  Now I am planning for marriage and I read on this site that if a person is impotent then he should consult a doctor before getting married.

I did see a urologist of a reputed hospital and he said to me that I was normal and I can go forward with planning my marriage.  Also Mufti Saheb, what should I do.  I don’t what to give and kind of trouble to my wife in future.  And also Mufti Saheb, can I go forward with my marriage.  I have stopped masturbating since two months.  JazākAllahu Khair.

Dua for my marriage and Istiqāmat.

Assalāmualaikum.
Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

We are delighted to know that you have left the evil act of masturbation.  We ask Allāh Taālā that he grant you steadfastness.  Amīn.

Indeed masturbation is detrimental for an individual physically and spiritually.  However you have stated that you have seen a urologist and he has conformed that you are normal.  Therefore, we see no problem in your plans for marriage.  Nevertheless, do not forget to continuously consult a scholar of Dīn or an experienced individual throughout the various stages of your married life.

And Allah Ta’āla Knows Best
