slm. when the husbands dies, is it permissible still for the wife to perform her fard hajj, when the hajj period falls within her ‘idah period even though she has a mahram?
Answer:
In the name of Allāh, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Assalāmu ῾alaykum wa Rahmatullāhi Wabarakātuh
If a woman is in her ῾iddah, she can not go for Haj. This is irrespective of whether the ῾iddah is due to the death of her husband or because of divorce. Therefore, she will have to go next year accompanied with a mahram.
