A partially impotent person…am I allowed to get married?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Askimam.org

Please share your view on my situation I am a 33 year old single male ( never married). I had an operation after which my body stopped producing testesterone. I get regular testesterone injections once every four weeks. This is the only treatement possible at this time. My sperm count is zero which means I cannot have children. But I can have sex. My question is am I allowed to get married , If yes which One should I get married to: 1. someone who has never been married. 2. A widower with children. 3. A widower without children. 4. A divorcee with children. 4. A divorcee without children. Jazakalaah

Answer

You may get married to whomsoever you wish as you have the ability to fulfil her marital rights. However it would be better to inform a potential spouse in advance, that according to the medical experts you would not be able to father children, even though Allah could give you children inspite of this condition.
