I’ve talked this situation with my brother but he does not believe that any meat can be considered halal in Austr. because of the mass produce needed for the amount of demand

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Askimam.org

He believes that if we get a lamb and cut it in our backyard only that is halal(which is illegal). The organization that lists food as halal here in NSW is not accepted by him – he asks who are the people that are making this halal, what sort of books do they read, and looks at it through an individuals not their main aim. The most popular sheikh here in sydney was caught bringing stolen goods to here and he said this if the biggest imam giving khutba what’s the rest going to be like? What do I do?? Please give detailed answer as this is very hurting for all involved

Answer

In principle, an Aadil (just) person’s information regarding Halaal and Haraam in Shari?ah is valid. (Hidaaya vol.4)

An Aadil is a Muslim who is upright and strictly adheres to Shari?ah. The Aadil person must also have the correct understanding of Halaal and Haraam. Therefore, if an Aadil Muslim informs that the meat is Halaal, it will be permissible to accept his information and consume the meat.
