when giving dawah is it permissibe to talk about films.
the respected speaker in this video gives dawah and while talking to a famous film star says about their first meeting he did not mention allah taala once. is this the correct method/etiquette of giving dawah.
what is the ruling on doing this, talking about bollywood films in depth when giving dawah to bring the person closer to you. could you give me your thoughts on this?

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
People who are sincere Da’ees face great challenges in inviting people to Deen. In doing so, they confront challenges with whatever they sincerely feel is the most effective way in overcoming the challenges. This is termed as wisdom. Allah Ta’ala says:
أُدْعُ إِلَى سَبِيْلِ رَبِّكَ بِالْحِكْمَةِ وَالْمَوْعِظَةِ الْحَسَنَةِ وَجَادِلْهُمْ بِالَّتِيْ هِيَ أَحْسَن
“Invite people to the way of your Lord with wisdom and good counsel. And argue with them in the best of manners”
It is possible that they may err in adopting the correct method in overcoming these challenges. Therefore, Da’ees are advised to make istighfaar after making Da’wah.
It is obvious that a sincere Da’ee would know that Bollywood films are haraam. His intention of discussing the films is not the films itself, it is to destroy the inclination of such films in his addressee by winning over his confidence and instilling in him the consciousness of Allah Ta’ala, death and life after death through which he would resent the films.
The Fuqaha have ruled that while intoxicants are haraam and impure, one may hold them with the intention of destroying them. The holding of the intoxicants by a non-alcoholic and sincere person should be contexualised and not judged in isolation.
The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said:
إِيَّاكُمْ وَالظَّنِّ فَإِنَّ الظَّنَّ أَكْذَبُ الْحَدِيْث
“Avoid suspicion, for suspicion is the most false form of talk”
And Allah Ta’āla Knows Best
