What to do if in Fard salaah, one accidently read another surah after Surah Fatiha in the third or fourth raka’ah?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Arij Canada

When reading any of the Fard salaah, what should one do when in the third or fourth raka’ah they accidently read another surah or part of another surah after the Fatiha or they recite the Tasmiyyah after the Fatihah, but they then remember that they are in the third rakah? Should sajdah sahw be done in this situation? Jazakallah Khair

Answer:
Assalâmu’alaykum Warahmatullâhi Wabarakâtuh

Respected brother,
Sajdah Sahw is not required. It is against the Sunnah to recite Surah after Surah Fatihah in the third or fourth Rak’at of Fardh Salâh; therefore, it will be Makrooh-e-Tanzihi, but will not necessitate Sajdah Sahw.
