Reading Quraan Bareheaded

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Askmufti.co.za

Q: Is it allowed for a woman to recite the Quraan without covering her hair? Is there any Hadith?

A: To cover the head when reading Quran is a strongly emphasized etiquette of the Quran. It is disrespectful to leave the hair open when reciting Quran Shareef.  In salaah, it is haraam to leave the head open; recitation of the Quran is an act rendered in salaah, hence leaving the head open for this act, though not haraam, is definitely makrooh (abominable).
