It is makrooh to recite the holy Quran beside dead body before ghusl. Yes, the Quran may be recited after burial etc. The merit of reciting Surah Yasin is mentioned in hadith that Almighty Allah relieves the dead one with the barakah of Surah Yasin and bestows him virtues equal to the number of dead ones that are buried therein.
ويقرأ يسين لما ورد “من دخل المقابر وقرأ سورة ہسين خفف الله عنهم يومئذ ، وكان له بعدد من فيها حسنات” بحر وفي شرح اللباب: ويقرأ من القرآن ما تيسرله من الفاتحة وأول البقرة إلى المفلحون وآية الكرسي وآمن الرسول وسورة يسين وتبارك الملك وسورة التكاثر والإخلاص اثنى عشر مرة أو عشراً أو سبعاً أو ثلاثاً ثم يقول : اللهم أوصل ثواب ما قرأناه إلى فلان أو إليهم اه (شامى زكريا 3/151)
