Is it permissible to recite the Holy Quran, supplicate, and raise hands to supplicate for those who have passed away while offering condolences to someone?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Jamia Binoria
Is it permissible in the Shari’ah when offering condolences to someone to recite the Holy Quran, then supplicate, the when returning, everyone raises their hands and supplicate for those who had passed away?

الجواب حامدا و مصلیا

Reciting a portion of the Holy Quran or supplicating for the deceased are recommended actions when going to offer one’s condolences. But raising ones hands for supplication in this situation is not established in the Sunna. This is why one shouldn’t thing that doing such is necessary, nor should one think that doing such is wrong, because supplication in itself has indeed been established.
