What does Islam say about sculpting human figures for learning purposes?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Jamia Binoria
I am a photographer. I am very much interested in sculpting human figures but everyone avoids it because it is Haram. But then I have read in an article that if one adopts the art of sculpting merely for learning, then it is not Haram. Please guide me regarding this. What does Islam say about this? And to what extent is it permissible?

الجواب حامدا و مصلیا

Because it is Haram, as per Shari’ah, to sculpt living things, it is not permissible to adopt this art just for learning. This must be avoided.
And Allah knows best.
