Would It Be Permissible To Pause in Salat Before Rising for the Second Rakaat and Before the Fourth Rakaat?

Question:

Mufti could you inform me if one is following the Hanafi madhab, would it be permissible to pause in salat before rising for the second rakaat and before the fourth rakaat?

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Answer:

To sit briefly after the first and third Rak’at Sujood before Qiyam is called Jalsah Istiraha.

This type of sitting is not sunnah according to the Hanafi Mazhab. (1)

If someone needs to sit before standing up due to health reasons such as knee problems, etc., then it is allowed.

It should be avoided if there is no valid reason for doing it.

Only Allah knows best.
