Would Salah Be Valid if One Does Not Read ‘Rabbighfirli’ Between the Two Sujood?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by DarulIftaBirmingham

Answered by: Shaykh Ahmed bin Mohamed Umarji

Question:

Between the two sujood if one does not read ‘Rabbighfirli’ will his Salah be not valid

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Answer:

This will not invalidate the prayer as this Dua is neither Fard nor Wajib. Rather reciting “رب اغفر لي” between two sajdah is mustahab.1

Missing a Fard will invalidate the prayer and missing a Wajib will necessitate a Sajda-e-Sahw.2

Only Allah knows best
