Question:
My family has been invited to a dawat by Qiydiyanis. I was wondering if it is permissible to attend?
Answer:
According to the Ulama, adherents of the Qadiyani group are not considered Muslim and are out of the fold of Islam. We are prohibited from keeping up relations with such people.
Allah ﷻ commands in the Quran: “And do not be inclined to those who have oppressed(themselves), lest you be seized by the fire, and you shall have none to protect you besides Allah, nor shall you be helped.” (11:113). This prohibition includes visiting, sympathizing, eating with, marrying etc.
If by meeting with such people, you are confident and sure to convince them to repent to Allah ﷻ for their beliefs, then it would be commendable to do so with this intention. If however, you fear that your own beliefs might be corrupted, or they are not prepared to change their blasphemous beliefs, then it would be best to cut off relations with them and not even accept their invitation. In one Hadeeth, Rasulullah ﷺ explained that the hearts of the obedient become stained with the ill effect of the sinners if the obedient continue to eat, drink and keep up relations with them.
In conclusion, you must not accept their Dawat/invitation. If you were in any way contemplating to accept their invitation, you should also keep in mind that the animal slaughtered by a Murtad (renegade) is Haram to consume. [iii] This would be all the more reason for you not to accept their invitation.
