If my wife is sleeping on the bed, am I allowed to sit on the floor and read the quran even if I have my back to her? Or do I have to sit in the bed or chair while reading?

If the room is large, you may sit in one corner with your back facing her.

However, it is a small room, the honour of the Qur’aan dictates that you do not sit on the floow whilst someone is sleeping or sitting on a bed or chair.
