Appointing an amir (leader) on journey

Question

What is the reference for this narration?

Sayyiduna Abu Sa’id Al Khudri (radiyallahu ‘anhu) relates that Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said: “If three of you set out on a journey, you should appoint one of you as the amir [leader].”

 

Answer

Imam Abu Dawud (rahimahullah) has recorded this Hadith.
