لما أصيب إخوانكم بأحد جعل الله أرواحهم في جوف طير خضر، ترد أنهار الجنة، تأكل من ثمارها، وتأوي إلى قناديل من ذهب معلقة في ظل العرش

Imam Abu Dawud (rahimahullah) and others have recorded this Hadith as part of a longer narration on the authority of Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Abbas (radiyallahu’anhuma).
Hafiz Ibnul Qattan (rahimahullah) has declared the Hadith sound (hasan).

Translation
Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Abbas (radiyallahu ‘anhuma) reported that Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said: “When your brothers were martyred in Uhud, Allah placed their souls inside green birds which go to drink at the ponds of Jannah, eat from its fruits and nestle in golden lamps in the shade of the ‘Arsh…”
