Nabi’s (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) consideration for the congregation

Answered according to Hanafi Fiqh by HadithAnswers.com

Question

Can the following be quoted as a Hadith?

Nafi’ ibn Sarjis (rahimahullah) relates from a Sahabi whom they visited (i.e Sayyiduna Abu Waqid Al-Bakri –radiyallahu ‘anhu-) that:

“Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam), was the lightest of people when praying in congregation, and the longest when praying alone.”

Answer

Yes, this Hadith has been recorded by Imam Ahmad and others (rahimahumullah).

(Musnad Ahmad, vol. 5 pg. 218)

‘Allamah Haythami (rahimahullah) has declared all of the narrators as reliable/dependable (رجاله موثقون).

(Majma’uz Zawaid, vol. 2 pg. 70)

And Allah Ta’ala knows best.
