Dhikr is among the most effective ways of gaining salvation

Can you confirm the source of this Hadith?

ما عمل آدمي عملا قط أنجى له من عذاب الله من ذكر الله

Answer:

Imam Ahmad (rahimahullah) has recorded this Hadith on the authority of Sayyiduna Mu’adh ibn Jabal (radiyallahu ‘anhu).

(Musnad Ahmad, vol. 5 pg. 239. Also see: Sunan Ibn Majah, after Hadith: 3790)

Translation

Sayyiduna Mu’adh ibn Jabal (radiyallahu ‘anhu) reports that Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said: “No person can carry out a deed which is more effective in granting him safety from Allah’s punishment than the remembrance of Allah.”

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
