Question: salaams mufti sahib can you give tafseer or explaination on this ayah I am not sure on the surah can you shed light on this too…please insha allah :innalathena qaloo rabbunallahu thoomastaqamoo tatanazaloo alaihimul malaikatu allah takhafoo wa la tahzanoo wa absheru bil jannahtil latee kuntum to ardoon.

What you have quoted is verse 30 of Surah Fussilat (41).
The translation of the verse is: “Surely, those who say: “Our Lord is Allah,” and then hold steadfast, the angels will descend upon them: “Do not fear, and do not grieve, and receive glad tidings of Paradise which you were promised”.
The verse refers to those who truly believed in Allah, were sincere in their good actions for Allah, and practiced upon the obedience of Allah in the way Allah has ordained it in the religion of Islam. It also means those who believed in Allah and continuously confessed that Allah is their lord and did not associate partners to Allah. They remained firmed upon the path of righteousness by not turning to others besides Allah and by not committing sins. They were steadfast upon the testimony of la ilaha Illallah and continued to fulfill the duties imposed upon them by Allah.
The verse states that such people who said Allah was their lord and remained steadfast upon this believe, then ‘the angels would descend upon them’. The great commentators of the Holy Quran like Mujahid, As Suddi, Zaid bin Aslam and others state that it means ‘at the time of death the angels come to them.’ When the angels arrive, they say, ‘Do not fear’. Mujahid, Ikramah, Zaid bin Aslam say that, it means ‘Do not fear what is ahead of the matters of the hereafter.’ They (the angels) also say, ‘Do not grieve’. It means, ‘Do not grieve over that which was left behind of the worldly matters from among the children, family members and wealth’. The angels then announce glad tidings to the true believers and say to them, ‘and receive glad tidings of Paradise which you have been promised’. At this time, the angels give the believers the glad tidings that he has achieved goodness and has avoided that which is bad. (Tafseer Ibn Katheer.
