Question

Assalamu Alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh,

Can you please explain, how to do Adhkar after salah in Maliki fiqh? Is it like in Shafii “ayat al kursi ikhlas falakh nas then 33 zikr” or like in Hanbali “33 zikr then ayat al kursi ikhlas falakh nas” or maybe in another way? Looking forward to your answer! Thank you!

Answer

I am afraid you are mistaken in assuming that there are fixed methods of doing Adhkar after Salah in the jurisprudence schools of thought.

What you have read are merely various examples given by the scholars of their respected schools of thought of how to carry out the Adhkars after Salah.

I put your question to one of my teachers Muhammed Balo’oe, who is a Maliki scholar and he also confirmed that there is no fixed method of Adhkars after Salah in the Maliki Mazhab.

Likewise, I could not find anything in the Maliki textbooks to confirm your assertion.
