Clarification on the Hadith of ‘loving the Ahlul Bayt’

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by HadithAnswers.com

I am confused about the Hadith found in Sahih Muslim where Rasullulah (sallallahu ‘alayhim wasallam) says I am leaving two things the Quran and Sunnah and the Ahlul Bayt. I heard from someone that the descendants of Rasullulah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam) are always right at all time periods. I am confused on this matter.

Answer

This Hadith emphasizes the need to have love and care for the Ahlul Bayt (Family of Rasulullah -sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam-).

Loving the Ahlul Bayt is indeed an act of reward and is a part of loving Rasulullah (sallallahu’alayhi wasallam) himself.
I haven’t seen any commentator stating that they will always be right at all times.

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best,
