Being unmindful of Allah Ta’ala in any gathering will be a cause of regret in the Hereafter

What is the authenticity of these words?

ما قعد قوم مقعدا لا يذكرون فيه الله عز وجل، ويصلون على النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، إلا كان عليهم حسرة يوم القيامة، وإن دخلوا الجنة للثواب

Answer

Imam Ahmad (rahimahullah) has recorded this narration on the authority of Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (radiyallahu ‘anhu). Imam Ibn Hibban (rahimahullah) has declared the Hadith authentic.

(Musnad Ahmad, vol. 2 pg. 463, Sahih Ibn Hibban; Al Ihsan, Hadith: 591)

Translation

When people sit in a gathering which is void of the remembrance of Allah Ta’ala and salutations [durud] upon Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), they will be remorseful on the Day of Qiyamah, even if they gain entry into Jannah, due to the missed opportunity of reward.
