Can I Recite the Qunut Supplication Behind a Hanafi Imam Who Doesn’t Recite It?

Question

Can I Recite the Qunut Supplication Behind a Hanafi Imam Who Doesn’t Recite It?

Answer

Thank you for your question.

Qunut Supplication

It is perfectly permissible for you to recite the qunut dua after your ruku’, even if your Hanafi imam doesn’t recite it. You should recite the very short version (so you don’t lag too far behind the imam), and bless the Prophet and his family after it.

May Allah give you the best of this world and the next.
