A. It is totally haram (unlawful) to marry the younger sister while being married to the older one. Allah has totally prohibited a person from marrying two sisters in one marriage. In Sura An Nisa (4) verse 23, Allah says, ‘Forbidden to you is that you join two sisters in wedlock at the same time’.

Based on this verse, it is totally haram for one to have two sisters in his marriage at the same time. Whether these sisters are twins, or one is older than the other – in all cases, the prohibition is the same.
