Moulana could you please tell me that talking in salaah, breaks salaah, but what if…

Question:

Assalamulekum wb

Moulana could you please tell me that talking in salaah, breaks salaah, but what if you have the aadat (practice) talking to yourself out of salaah, and that even happens in salaah, but with no voice talking, just in your mind you saying something and praying at the same time, does that still break salaah?

e.g I pray some surah and at the same time, back of my mind I say, when i go home am going to eat food. but its unintentionally, its in your head! (THE DIALOGUE IS JUST IN YOUR HEAD) WOULD WE CONSIDER THAT AS WASWASAH OR SHAITAN PLAYING UP.

Answer:

In the name of Allah, Most Compassionate, Most Merciful

Salah only breaks when you utter something which is not part of Salah or which has nothing to do with the tilawah and duas in Salah. Therefore waswasa in Salah does not break it. Even if a person divorced his wife in his mind, the divorce is not counted until he utters the words of divorce. However it is better to make a habit of controlling the thoughts of the mind whether in salah or out of salah.

If the waswasas persist make a habit of reciting surah falaq and surah naas after each farz salah and then make dua to Allah (swt) for the removal of the thoughts.

May Allah help you

Ameen
