In reference to your question, I pray that Allah Ta’ala has mercy on him, many people say he used to do good tafseer.
However, it is neither necessary nor appropriate that I comment on every individual, especially when I have not known them. I am a resident of England, while Dr. Israr was from Pakistan. I have never had any dealings with him nor have I ever travelled with him, so how can I comment on him?
It is more appropriate that you refer to the ulema of Pakistan for more details.
