I wanted to find out if it is allowed to make Hajj when you have pending mortgage payments on your house. The mortgage is through guidance financial so it is islamic. Will this be considered a loan?. Can we make Hajj with a pending loan.
If a person goes to hajj despite debts like this and that person’s hajj will be accepted. The saying that one cannot go to hajj while in debt means that a person has so much money that if he pays off his debt he wouldn’t be able to go to hajj. In a case like this a person should pay off his debt, which is recommended by scholars. When he gets money then he can go. The way people are in debt in this country is not the same, so, a person can do hajj while still in debt. As far as the Guidance is concerned we know that mufti taqu usmani are overseeing the operation and he has endorsed it. We trust him, so, we would think the same as he does.
