What is the authenticity of the narration, “Whoever sits in company of a religious Scholar it is as though he has sat with a Nabi”
Answer
‘Allamah Sakhawi (rahimahullah) states that he has not come across this as a Hadith. This should therefore not be attributed to Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam).
However, Imam Shafi’i (rahimahullah) said, “When you see a person dedicated to Hadith, it is as though you have seen Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam)”
(Al Maqasidul Hasanah, Hadith: 1104)
