Assalamualaikum Warahmatullah
I am a sunni Muslim man and want to know if it is permissible to marry a shia woman who is a follower of the Jafri sect. Please advice if permissible and if not please explain in detail why. It is an immediate emergency as my parents are not convinced that it is allowed.

If the girl has kufria (non-Islamic) beliefs such as accusing Hazrat Ayesha RaziAllah Ta‘ala Anha, denying Hazrat Abu Bakar Siddique RaziAllah Ta‘ala Anhu’s status as a companion or Khaleefa of Rasulullah Sallallaho Alyhi Wasallam, cursing the sheikhein (i.e. Hazrat Abu Bakar Siddique and Hazrat Umar RaziAllah Ta‘ala Anhu) and disrespecting them, considering Hazrat Ali RaziAllah Ta‘ala Anhu as a diety, believing that Hazrat Jibraeel Alyhissalam made a mistake in delivering the revelation to Rasulullah Sallallaho Alyhi Wasallam, or believes that the words or meanings of the Quran have been altered, or considering any such beliefs which are against the absolute teachings of Quran and Hadith, then she is considered as a kafir and therefore performing Nikah with her will be considered haram. If Nikah is still performed with such a person, the Nikah will not be considered valid or officiated. If however her beliefs are not kufria, then fuqaha (jurists) have disagreement in the ruling. Certain fuqaha still perform takfeer of such individuals while others do not perform takfeer rather perform tafseeq (i.e. consider them as a fasiq). Even in the situation described latter, it is better and recommended to refrain from performing Nikah with her so that the resulting progeny is not corrupted and brought up with correct beliefs and their faith can be safeguarded.
