Which Job Would Be More Beneficial in Terms of Setting Me up for Marriage?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Seekersguidance.org

Answered by Ustadh Tabraze Azam

Question: Assalam alaykum

1. Would it be possible for you to help me find a spouse?

2. I have recently been offered two jobs:

One is a Call Center office job (full time) and the other is a Warehouse job for a Muslim organisation (full time but less hours).

Which job would be more beneficial in terms of setting me up for marriage?

Answer: Wa alaikum assalam wa rahmatullah,

1. May Allah Most high grant you a righteous spouse. Consider asking some of the religious leaders in the community to keep an eye out for you, and continue praying the Prayer of Need (salat al-hajah). [see: How Does One Perform The Prayer Of Need (salat al-haja)?]

2. Consult with those in the industry, or anybody else who may be able to give some insights regarding both jobs. Thereafter, pray the Prayer of Seeking Guidance (salat al-istikhara), multiple times, if needed, and then make the decision you feel will be best for your this worldly and other worldly lives.
