Praying an Optional Prayer in Congregation

Answer:
In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

In the Name of Allah, Most Merciful & Compassionate

In the Hanafi school:

It is disliked to pray nafl prayers in a large congregation or to make it a habit, except the tarawih prayer in Ramadan. [Durr al-Mukhtar, Radd al-Muhtar, Hashiyat al-Tabyin]

However, there is difference of opinion in this—some madhhabs allow it. Thus, one should not condemn or criticize others for doing so, nor make it a cause of division or fitna.

And Allah alone gives success.
