Getting someone to wax one’s private parts if one’s spouse demands, requests, or prefers it and you can’t do it yourself

Answer:
In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Walaikum assalam wa rahmatullah,

The Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him and give him peace) said, “Guard your nakedness from anyone other than your spouse…” [Tirmidhi and Ibn Maja, and Abu Dawud]

It is unlawful to uncover one’s nakedness (awra) in front of anyone besides one’s spouse, except in situations of genuine necessity—such as medical treatment (to the extent of the necessity). [Ibn Abidin, Radd al-Muhtar]

Waxing one’s private parts does not constitute genuine need or necessity and does not thus permit one to uncover one’s nakedness in front of another person (even of the same sex).

However, you could seek your spouse’s help. And, like in all other things, practice makes perfect…

And Allah alone gives success.

Wassalam,

Faraz Rabbani
