The Qunut in Witr

Recently I was told by a scholar that if I miss dua qunoot in witr salat accidentally I can recite the dua qunoot in any position. (i.e. ruku sajdah , jalsah, etc.) And then I do not have to do sajdah sawh. Please can you elaborate.
