For example, over here where i live we pray eid in a big convention area…but the masjid people have to pay for renting the place…is it allowed to do eid prayer at the masjid?…if the mosque has a big parking lot..can it do it there?? can you please clearify this to me..so i am able to educate my fellow brothers who have this same concern…

Answer:
In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullah

I pray this finds you in the best of health and spirits.

It is in itself valid to perform the Eid prayer at the mosque, but in itself superior to perform it in a large open place where people from around town can all congregate together–as this the practice of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him).
