Can a Muslim woman wear Saris

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Qibla.com

Answered by Shaykh Faraz Rabbani

Please can you tell me if it is permissible for muslims women to wear saris?

Answer:
In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Walaikum assalam wa rahmatullah,

I pray this finds you in the best of health and spirits.

If the sari is properly covering, loose, and modest, then it is permitted to wear without dislike. The sari is a common cultural dress of Muslims and is not a distinguishing sign of disbelief or corruption.

This is what the texts of the Hanafi school would entail. Mufti Rafi Usmani–the Grand Mufti of Pakistan, and a leading Hanafi jurist and hadith scholar–explicitly confirmed this specific matter during his visit to Amman in 2004.

And Allah alone gives success.
