Being involved in an illicit relationship with a non-Muslim

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: Does a man become a kaafir if he gets married to or has a relationship with a non muslim?

Bismillaah

A: It is an extremely serious offence for a believer to have an illicit relationship with a non-Muslim woman. He should immediately sever the relationship and sincerely repent to Allah Ta’ala for getting involved in this grave sin and he should make a firm resolve that he will never repeat this in the future. However he will not become a kaafir.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
