Basis for choosing a madhhab

Q: What Should be the basis of choosing a madhhab?

A: All the four madhhabs are based upon the Qur’aan and Sunnah. If one is following one madhhab then he should remain committed to that madhhab. However, if one is not following any particular madhhab, he should choose that madhhab which is predominant in the place (or country) he is staying in, so that it will be easy for him to practice and thereafter remain committed to it.
