Q: My name is Muhammad Yaseen s/o Muhammad Arif and my wife’s name is Urooj d/o Fazal Ahmed. We Got Married in Makkah alhamdullilah. When the imam was offering our nikkah ceremony, he asked me: Muhammad Yaseen s/o Muhammad Arif, would you like to marry Urooj Fazal d/o Ahmed Urooj’s Father name is Fazal Ahmed and Imam said, Urooj Fazal d/o Ahmed, so I just wanted to ask if our nikah is accepted?

Bismillaah

A: If he is known by the name Ahmed, then the nikaah is valid.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
