Being in the state of wudhu when giving ghusal to the deceased

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: Must the person and those assisting in giving ghusal to the deceased be in the state of wudhu?

Bismillaah

A: It is not waajib for those taking part or assisting in the ghusal to be in the state of wudhu, however it is better for them to be in the state of wudhu. It is makrooh for a person in the state of janaabat or a woman in the state of haidh or nifaas to carry out the ghusal.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
