Medication that contains gelatine

Q: My wife suffers from an hormonal imbalance and the doctor has prescribed medication for her. The doctor has requested she takes this medication in order for her to improve her quality of life. The medication has gelatine in it. Is it permissible for her to take this medication?

Bismillaah

A: If there is no other adequate halaal substitute, then it will be permissible.
