Question:
Q1-WHAT KIND OF PEOPLE SHOULD BE IN THE COMMITTEE OF THE MASJID?
Q2-IS IT PERMISSIBLE TO FIX AN AMOUNT LIKE HUNDRED POUNDS YEARLY ON EVERY MEMBER OF THE MASJID THAT THEY MUST PAY THE FIX AMOUNT?
Q3-IS IT PERMISSIBLE TO GIVE THE SHEET OF NAMES TO ALL THE MEMBERS OF WHOSE PAID THE FIXED AMOUNT AND THOSE WHO STILL HAVE TO PAY AND THERE OUT STANDING BALANCE? PLEASE PROVIDE REFERENCE TO ANSWER JAZAKALLAH.
Answer:
1. Righteous, faithful and those individuals who are capable of looking after the house of Allah deserve to be on the committee of the Masjid.
2. It will be permissible to fix a certain amount of annual membership fees if it is unanimously agreed upon by all the members.
3. A balance sheet can be given to the members in order to inform them regarding the outstanding fees due by them.
Membership fees paid by the members are as a gift and a means of assistance to the Masjid; therefore it cannot be enforced on anyone.
