Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Jamia Binoria
Asalam-o-alaikom WBT I am working in Al-Jubail, Saudi Arabia…In our office we have a room for prayer we used to pray 3 times, zuhar, asar and maghrib…we dun ‘ve a permanent imam in office…mostly I am Imam…but some times other ppl also be an Imam…the ppl r some arabs from Egypt & Syriya…they do massah on socks…i know that by this way there salah is not valid some times they are imam so i ‘ve to pray behind them but i know my salah will be invalid..but i ‘ve to stand behind them to avoid any fitna …i have to ask Mufti sb that if i offer my prayer with out making intention (niyah) behind imam…is my individual salah will be valid in case that i am reciting my own salah but only going for ruku n sajda with imam…but my intention (niyah) is to pray my individual not with imam…plz guide me with your opinion..is this way right..my salah is valid individuality? If a Shafi’ee or a Hanbalee is the Imam and if he does not regard the other Mazhabs due to which the Muqthadee’s (follower’s) Namaz become void according to their respective Mazhabs, whereas in the case of doing Masah on socks it is certain that Namaz becomes void, then in such a situation it is best avoid from performing Fardh Namaz following such a person as Imam.
