Be very careful in choosing one’s words when speaking about the Prophet (pbuh)

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Jamia Binoria

What is the view of the scholars of Islam regarding the following issue?
There is a muslim personality (who is not a scholar but people listen to him both nationally and internationally) who willingly or unwillingly speaks about our Holy Prophetﷺ using such words that are in appropriate for the Prophetﷺ, for example: “the disbelievers of Makkah made fun of and debased the Prophetﷺ during the initial propagation of Islam.” Is it blasphemous to use the word “debased” for someone whom Allah has mentioned highly or not?

الجواب حامدا و مصلیا

If the mentioned person didn’t intend blasphemy with his statement “the disbelievers of Makkah made fun of and debased ….”, rather this statement came out of him unwillingly, then even though he does not come out of the fold of islam, it is very impudent to make such statements especially if made willing. This is why it is necessary for one to be very careful in choosing one’s words when speaking about the prophet.
And Allah knows best.
