Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Jamia Binoria

What does the scholars of Islam have to say regarding the following matter?
Can a women travel by plane without an unmarriageable relative (محرم)? A relative will accompany her to the airport and another relative will receive her when she lands in the other airport. Does the Shari’ah allow this?

الجواب حامدا و مصلیا

Whether by plane or any other means of transport, it is not permissible for a woman to travel for more than the distance specified by the Shari’ah (i.e. three days and nights) without an unmarriageable relative. This must be avoided.
