Savings Accounts in conventional (interest based) banks

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Jamia Binoria

My question is about profit on Savings Account. If somebody receives profit on Savings Account and uses that profit for charitable purpose, is it allowed? If it is allowed, then all funds deposited in other accounts, can be transferred to Savings Accounts for earning profit and using that profit as charity?

الجواب حامدا و مصلیا

Opening of Savings Accounts in conventional (interest based) banks with the idea of using the income from same in charity is also impermissible. It is necessary to abstain from doing so.

Allah knows best.
