Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Jamia Binoria

Assalamu Alaikum What is the ruling about the way the people celebrating the Milad un Nabi, chanting slogans and arranging processions etc.etc.? Are they not Bid’aths? Isn’t it making joke with the blessed birth of Nabi Sallalallhu Alaihi wa Sallam? Kindly send the reply?

الجواب حامدا و مصلیا

The current Meelad practice and celebrating some particular days of Rabi’ul Awwal as Eid is not recorded or established either during the pure life of Hadhrath Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam or theireinafter in the era of Sahaba or their followers or followers of their followers, whereas the current practice is not at all permissible due to having many impermissible activities. Hence it is Wajib to refrain from it.
