I am connected to the Deobandi Sect and my question is,
Where did Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam say that it is permissible to perform Namaz appointing a person who possesses such and such qualities as Imam? What I mean is, why is it not allowed to perform Namaz following Barelvis?

Generally, Barelvis, apart from committing Innovations (Bid’aath) and traditions (Rusoomaath) are bearing incorrect and Shirk concepts and doctrines too. Therefore it is Makrooh e Thahreemi to perform Namaz due to this rebellious act following an Imam who is extreme in such concepts and doctrines. Therefore it is not permissible to appoint such a person as Imam upon one’s own discretion
