Please verify the authenticity of this narration:
“And when the moon eclipses in Safar there would be a lack of rain in that year until the decrease will appear in the sea.”
Answer:
This is part of a longer unreliable narration which explains the occurrences if eclipses occur during the months of the year. The part in question is as follows:
“…If an eclipse occurs in Safar, there will be a decrease in rain so much so that the [water levels] in the ocean will also decrease…”
However, the Muhaddithun have declared this narration a fabrication. It is therefore not suitable to quote.
