Is this Hadith authentic and could you cite the full Hadith?
“The world is sweet, green and alluring. Indeed, Allah is making you succeed each other…”
Answer:
Imam Muslim (rahimahullah) has recorded this Hadith in his Sahih. The Hadith is therefore authentic.
Sayyiduna Abu Sa’id Al Khudri (radiyallahu ‘anhu) reported that Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said: “The world is certainly sweet and lush/green [i.e. alluring]. Allah is making you succeed each other in order to see how you act. Beware of the world and beware of women [i.e. Protect yourselves against the trials of this world and women]. The first trial for the Banu Israil was in regard to women.”
(Sahih Muslim, Hadith: 2742)
