Is this Hadith authentic?
There is a Hadith on the authority of Sayyiduna Abu Sa’id Al Khudri (radiyallahu ‘anhu) which states that the lowest ranked person in Jannah will have a tent made of pearls, chrysolite/peridot and sapphire the size of the distance between Al Jabiyah and San’a.
Answer:
Imam Tirmidhi (rahimahullah) has recorded this Hadith on the authority of Sayyiduna Abu Sa’id Al Khudri (radiyallahu ‘anhu). The part in question is as follows:
“…A tent will be erected for him [i.e. The lowest ranked person in Jannah] which will be made of pearls, chrysolite/peridot and sapphire. It will be the size of the distance between Al Jabiyah [A city in Sham] and San’a [the Capital of Yemen].”
(Sunan Tirmidhi, Hadith: 2562)
Imam Ibn Hibban (rahimahullah) has recorded this narration (with his own chain) and has declared the Hadith authentic.
